Cane Rail runs along the underside of staircases that aren't completely boxed in.
This type of railing serves as a safety component to guide and assist the visually impaired around the base of the staircase. A cane rail will prevent the person from mistakenly making their way under the staircase to lower clearances, which could result in possible injury.
