INFOGRAPHIC: A Look at Vertical Transportation Inside 1 World Trade Center
Last Friday, May 10, 2013, crews completed the installation of 1 World Trade Center's (1WTC) 408-foot spire. The spire brings the building to 1,776 ft, making it the tallest structure in the western hemisphere and third-tallest in the world. Construction on 1WTC began in 2006.

Officially founded in 2007 by actor Brad Pitt, the Make it Right Foundation has helped to create affordable, sustainable, well-made homes and facilities for people everywhere, for over a half-decade. What's more, the foundation has recruited well-known architects, such as Frank Gehry, to design these brand new, LEED-certified structures.

At the end of January 2013, the USGBC published their annual list of the top 10 states for LEED in 2012. Rankings were determined by the number of square feet of LEED space certified per resident during last year. The District of Columbia topped the list, while the worst state for LEED was West Virginia who came in dead last at 0.08 square feet per person.

This survey asked 1,000 construction industry employees to share their perspective on BIM as a whole. Although this information was compiled using data from UK-based respondents, it is still an incredibly accurate depiction of where BIM stands today, no matter where you happen to be located in the modern world.
